BVL is a Shot Above The Rest

Unsurprisingly, the Boys Varsity Lacrosse team is off to a promising start. The  nineteen players on the team are led by this year’s captains Joseph Rafferty ‘26, Milin Torgalkar ‘26, Charlie Pearl ‘26, and William Hawkey ‘27, alongside Coach Cipriano and Coach Sable.  Hawkey says, “The team is very happy with our performance thus far. We picked up a big win last Friday against King 17-8 to get our revenge from last year. We are still trying to put all the pieces together to beat the tougher teams in our division and win the FAA.”

After four games, the team has a record of 3-1. Their only loss–by one point– was to Greens Farms Academy, which the team saw as an accomplishment given the strength of their opponent’s lacrosse program. Wiley O’Connor ‘28 says, “So far, it’s been going really well. We have a talented first eleven, but there is a lack of depth in the team.” This is due to multiple injured players severely limiting the amount of boys  available to substitute on and off the field.

This year, the team is working towards their games for the Fairchester Athletic Association (FAAs) which occur in mid to late May. Despite a competitive roster of teams, there is a promising outlook for the team, due to their strong lineup. Good luck to Boys’ Lacrosse at all of their future games.
