Rye Country Day’s biennial Parents’ Association Benefit returned this year with the theme A Legacy of Courage and it promised to be one of the most anticipated community events this spring. Taking place on Saturday, April 18th 2027 at 6:30pm at Westchester Country Club, the benefit was not only a night of celebration, but also the school’s largest fundraiser, supporting programs that directly impacted students and faculty members.
The evening featured cocktails, food, drinks, dinner, dancing and both live and silent auctions, along with a special tribute to senior parents. Funds raised went directly towards important initiatives at Rye Country Day School, including professional development and equipment grants, financial aid, guest speakers, and schoolwide programing. In that sense, the event reflected its theme, as it honored the strength of the RCDS community while ensuring continued impact.
This year, however, the excitement did not end when the benefit did. Immediately following the main event, the night continued with Wildcats After Dark, an after party designed to bring a more high energy, late night atmosphere to the celebration. Starting at 10:30pm in the Mahogany Room at Westchester Country Club, the after party included a DJ, dancing, drinks and late-night bites. Adding to the excitement, rapper and actor LL Cool J made an appearance, making this year’s event especially memorable.
The after party introduced a new dynamic to the traditional Benefit, creating a more modern extension of the evening, offering guests a unique experience from the benefit itself. The after party branding, complete with neon visuals and a nightlife – like theme, contrasted with the formality of the benefit.
However, there was one important aspect. Attendance at the benefit was required in order to attend the after party. With limited capacity for both events, tickets sold quickly.
Led by co-chairs Lynelle Chang, Jaclyn Shanahan, and Jessica Testa, this night highlighted the generosity of the RCDS community, which is both proud of its legacy and excited about what is to come.
Whether attending for the cause, community, or celebration, April 18th was a night to remember.
