The Rye Country Day School Boys’ Varsity Hockey team has been flying up and down the ice this season, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every game! Led by captains Richie Morrow ‘26, Paul Heintz ‘27, and Andrew Eason ‘26, the team has continued to build momentum throughout the season.

The 2025-2026 season started with a game against Mamaroneck High School in November and the team is set to play their fifteenth game on January 30. When asked about his favorite game this season, Heintz highlighted their game against Greenwich Country Day School on December 17. He described how the team “played hard” and “set the tone for the rest of the season,” earning an impressive 9 to 1 victory.

Off the ice, the team continues to bond through team activities, including a dinner at Colony Grill. Morrow described an “early morning opportunity to watch a collegiate hockey game” where they “spent the whole day playing soccer and hanging out with the team.” These experiences have helped the team build camaraderie, benefitting them on the rink.

When asked to describe the team in one word, Heintz chose “enthusiastic,” explaining that the team is full of “high energy guys ready to do anything for the team to win.” While he acknowledges that sometimes the team loses focus, Heintz remains confident that they will continue to improve in the upcoming games.

Continuing their season, both Morrow and Heintz mentioned the Rye High School game on January 21st at Rye Playland as one of their season’s most notable matchups. The team, facing strong competition, would love all the support they can get, so keep an eye out for announcements on upcoming games.
