Girls Varsity Soccer Preview

The Girl’s Varsity Soccer Team is off to a strong start this season with three wins and a tie under their belt. After winning their opening scrimmage, the team tied their first match against Portledge and went on to win games against Marymount and the French American School.

With many seniors graduating last year, the team is very young; seven of their eleven starters are underclassmen. However, captains Nola Coady ‘26 and Caroline Stronski ‘27 have helped them grow and prepare for the start of the season.

On October 25th, the team is playing their largest rival, Greens Farms Academy. Although they had an incredible start to the season last year, GFA ended their undefeated streak during FAAs.

However, there is much more to the Girls Varsity Soccer team than just their competitions and athletic excellence. Stronski stated that her favorite part of being on the team is, “being able to play with my friends and play for my school. There is a different kind of energy on the field when you are representing RCDS.”

The team is facing off against the Hopkins School on September 27th on the north field, so make sure to show up and support your fellow wildcats!
