Volleyball Midseason Report

Written by Zara Khemlani

As the fall season progresses, the Girls Varsity Volleyball Team maintains an impressive record of 11-2. Under the leadership of new head coach Owen Carey, the team has shown immense growth and determination on the court. Captains Autumn Tombline ‘25 and Gabriela Schlumberger ‘25 have been key players, not only due to their skills on the court but also their ability to keep energy high and everyone focused. “Pre-season was great, we were able to get back into the competing mindset while also having fun and catching up with each other … our practices are tough but also full of laughter, you can see everyone putting in the effort while maintaining a fun environment which has paid off in our games,” says Tombline.

Looking ahead, the team is gearing up for some exciting matches. They face off against Chapin on October 15th, and following that, the Wildcats take on Holy Child on October 18th. This is a significant game, as it kicks off Wildcat Weekend and serves as the team’s Senior Day! With such a great season and school spirit, these upcoming games will be very exciting! Congratulations to the Varsity Volleyball Team for a great start to the 2024 fall season.
