Boys Soccer Midseason Report

Written by Camila Reyna

The Boys Varsity Soccer team is off to a great start! So far, they have beaten French American School, Hamden Hall, and Browning School, and have been working hard and playing well. Coach Andrei encourages players to “think, think, think, three times,” highlighting the mental aspect of soccer as players have to “figure out the best option” when passing and organizing set pieces to ensure the best playing. Coach Andrei also organizes high-intensity practices between games, believing that “the way you practice is the way you’re going to play.”

Multiple players have had a rewarding season. Defending lines have been led by Captain Chris Yepes ‘25, midfielders by Captain Matthew Jachman ‘25, and offensive line by Captain Luis Gutierrez ‘25. These team leaders have been working hard to ensure that every player puts their best foot forward.

The team has a game against the King School on October 5th, and a game against Green Farms Academy on October 8th. Boys Varsity Soccer is ready to win!
